Contemporary Clinic interviewed Nate Royster, RN, an emergency department (ED) charge nurse at Ohio State, on how to encourage vaccinations without offending patients or making them feel belittled to help address disparities and hesitancy around COVID-19 immunizations.

During the interview, Royster addressed what some of the causes for vaccine hesitancy in his ED have been, how he responded to patients expressing their concerns around the safety of the COVID-19 vaccines, and what some of the current disparities are relating to COVID-19 vaccinations that nurses can help to address.
