In this clip from the National Association of Pediatric Nursing, Laura Searcy MN, APRN, PPCNP-BC, FAANP, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Marietta Neonatology, Chair of the Board, Cobb Community Alliance to Prevent Substance Abuse 2017-2018 President, National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, explains vaping and the risk of nicotine exposure for users.

What vaping is, is just the inhaling of an aerosol from a battery-operated device of various size and shapes. The device that’s most commonly used, with about 80% of the market right now is the Juul, which always contains nicotine. Some of the liquids you can buy in vape shops have varying amounts of nicotine, but every Juul, which is the device used by a majority of kids, has nicotine in it. And one Juul pod is about the nictotine equivalent of about a pack of cigarettes.
