Contemporary Clinic® spoke with Sara Hunt, FNP, DNP, licensed family nurse practitioner, about what the general population should know about the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Hunt said that when COVID-19 first became known in the United States, there were not many options for testing and no tests available to us. However, with the implementation of more testing at places like CVS, she said there are more options for testing with less people who need the test.

Further, after someone is tested, Hunt recommends the CDC website for individuals to differentiate if they should quarantine or self-isolate.

Hunt also discussed the many misconceptions of COVID-19, implementing telehealth in the nurse practitioner practice, and how healthcare will change in a post-pandemic world.
